Danner Mag Mag 7 or 5 for the return pump?
Hello I am starting a new reef tank and can not decide which pump to purchase. I have a girl for 29 display and a girl 20 (long) to the sump. Already drilled the tank and sump with 3 / 4''jefes bulk identification. I put in a magazine that produce 7450 GPH @ 4 feet. I do not know if my 3 / 4 "ID pipe that could handle overflow lot back into the crankcase. On the other hand produces MAG 5310 GPH @ 4 feet. probably the work I wonder if anyone has any suggestions. do you think the 7 MAG work or should play it safe little with the MAG 5 keywords: saltwater marine sump refuge sps lps coral clam shells Algea lighting macro invertebrates
I went with a 5 to Mag side insurance. overflow will always match the pump unless the pump can flow more floodwater can handle. In this case, the tank will overflow as too water is pumped into the tank. The pump must never overflow even if the pump is a low score. The overflow is somehow adjusted to the pump.
