Fda Takes Action Against Drugs Hrt Compound - What does it mean for you
In a blow to manufacturers of certain drugs, the FDA has sent letters warning seven pharmacy operations that the claims they make about the safety and efficacy of its so-called hormone replacement therapy bio-identical " or "BHRT" products are unsupported by medical evidence and are considered false and misleading by the agency. Bioidentical hormones are custom-mixed formulas containing various hormones that are designed to be chemically identical to those naturally by your body. Manufacturers claim that bioidentical hormones are even safer than standard hormone therapy approved by the FDA.
The FDA states that the pharmacy operations improperly claim in question that their drugs, containing hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and estriol (which is a component of a drug approved by the FDA and has not been proven safe and effective any use) are superior to menopausal hormone therapy FDA approved drugs and prevent or treat serious diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, and various forms of cancer.
The FDA is concerned that the claims on safety, efficacy, and superiority that these pharmacy operations are making mislead patients, doctors and other health professionals. Compounded drugs are not reviewed by the FDA for safety and effectiveness, FDA urges patients to use FDA-approved drugs whenever possible. The letters on guard by the FDA state that the pharmacy operations violate federal law by making false statements and misleading about their hormone therapy drugs.
"We want to ensure that Americans receive accurate information about risks and benefits drug therapies, "said Dr. Janet Woodcock, FDA's chief medical officer and acting director of the agency's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. "Beyond today's regulatory action, FDA is publishing an informational article for women on its Web site consumer health information providing the facts to make informed decisions about these unapproved therapies. Women taking these drugs should consult their medical providers risk of drugs and whether they are receiving effective treatment. So what does this mean for your treatment options for symptoms of menopause? Some other alternatives for treatment of menopause include herbal black cohosh, to relieve menopausal symptoms like hot flushes and sweats night, and the chaste tree, which has a calming and relaxing effect, while expressing relief of headaches and breast tenderness.
Wild yam is another treatment option for menopause herbal, containing compounds that are similar to progesterone and very useful for relaxing muscle spasms while reducing inflammation associated with menopause-related symptoms. Last but not least is the rosemary. This herb is excellent for the treatment of headaches and circulatory problems, while fighting free radicals in the body and soothe your stomach for better digestion. These and other natural alternatives has not been tested scientifically, but have been used by many healthy women for years. Therefore, for women tired of having prescription medications or simply treat the symptoms of menopause, these and other natural remedies are highly recommended.

Massage Therapy
A variety of different massage styles available, including the style of Swedish massage or classic known, deep muscle therapy, and trigger point therapy, all of which are used therapeutically to promote circulation in the body, relax tired and aching muscles and to prevent or eliminate pain.
Often the terms "massage" and "massage therapy" are used interchangeably - however, the two are in fact something different services according to practicing massage therapy. While the "massage" may be the sole purpose of relaxation, massage therapy tends to be approached from a therapeutic position, as an increase or in some cases replacing the more invasive medical techniques in order to from disease or chronic pain conditions. There are a growing number of hospitals now partnering with schools or massage therapy or massage therapy offered directly within the facility - Some people who suffer from chronic pain feel that massage therapy is more effective than drug therapy treatment.
Trigger point massage is used in very specific muscle groups that are believed to transmit pain to different areas, in some cases, causing a medical condition diagnosed, or at least to cause the victim to believe that the problem is situated in another area that is really the case. In this type of massage, a strong pressure applied to specific areas, with many patients reporting excellent results up to and including immediate relief of back, neck and joint pain.
Other types of massage including hot stone massage, in which heated stones are used to apply both heat and pressure of the muscles of a client a way to dissolve muscle knots, providing opportunities for rest, and the promotion of a movement known to have a variety of physiological benefits.
Over 50 million Americans will get at least one massage this year, with many companies now encourage their employees to make use of therapy services massage as a way to boost morale and improve productivity. The victims of chronic conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome are increasingly encouraged by doctors and physiotherapists to explore the possibilities of massage therapy as a possible alternative to expensive surgery or to see the drug.
